15 November 2024. The BootStRaP project Bootcamp, held from November 7-10 in Porto, Portugal, successfully gathered student and teacher ambassadors and researchers for two full days of dynamic learning and co-creation.

New emotional regulation and impulse control strategies were explored by working toward developing an intervention app (BootstrAPP) aimed at improving young people’s mental well-being. Hosted in the beautiful city of Porto, the Bootcamp fostered an environment of collaboration and innovation among the participants.

The event was opened with a warm welcome from Professor Célia Sales, followed by an inspiring speech from Professor John Saunders.

Ice-breaking activities led by the Euro Youth Mental Health team energised the group, setting a positive tone for the following sessions. Attendees engaged in activities outlining the app’s goals and elements, focusing on co-creation.

Research experts Nana Lochner, Lara Basenach, and co-creation expert Hernâni Oliveira guided discussions on the intervention app’s objectives, sparking ideas for practical, impactful tools.
