23 December 2024. We are delighted to celebrate the start of recruitment in Lithuania and the Netherlands, with 7 other countries soon to follow!
Throughout this first round of recruitment, we hope to work with over 3,500 young people between the ages of 12–16 from 9 different countries across Europe, who will use BootstrAPP app to assess which young people are at risk of Problematic Internet Usage (PUI).
This app has not only taken a huge amount of hard work from our technical teams but has also been co-created with young people themselves. Student Ambassadors, a select group of young people working on the project, recently came together with their teachers, recruitment leads, researchers, and the Youth Advisory Board (Bootcrew) in November in Porto, Portugal. Together they not only worked on our application, but contributed their expertise to the Risk Management, Evaluation, and Troubleshooting of the project.
Young people even ran some sessions for young people. The Bootcrew, a group of Young Experts from 18–25 who collaborate through Euro Youth Mental Health, a European mental health charity, designed a session to evaluate youth participation in the project. This saw young people mapping their experience, sharing their thoughts in small focus groups and throwing paper aeroplanes of their goals to one another across the room!
We hope to reach these goals as the project enters a new phase and connects with a new cohort of young people.
