15 May 2025. Prof. Susanne Walitza Presented BootStRaP Project at Prestigious Swiss Forum on Mood and Anxiety Disorders

We are proud to share that our esteemed project member, Prof. Dr. med. Dipl.-Psych. Susanne Walitza delivered a keynote presentation at the 16th Swiss Forum for Mood and Anxiety Disorders (SFMAD), held on May 15, 2025, and organised by the Swiss Society for Anxiety and Depression (SGAD). The event gathered up to 300 leading experts, researchers, and practitioners from across Switzerland and beyond.

Prof. Walitza’s talk, titled “Pathological Media Use – TikTok & Co.” (“Pathologischer Medienkonsum — TikTok und Co”), addressed one of the most pressing issues of our time: the impact of digital media on mental health, particularly among young people. As part of her talk, she also introduced the BootStRaP project, a joint EU-funded initiative aimed at preventing Problematic Use of the Internet (PUI).

Her presentation received special attention—it was the only talk featured in the conference’s official press release and was also promoted across social media and in printed materials.

This recognition highlights both the relevance of the topic and the importance of our shared work in addressing it.
