BBC One “The One Show” follow-up an BootStRaP Study

May 29, 2026. The BootStRaP study was recently featured on BBC One’s “The One Show”, highlighting our ongoing work on problematic internet use among young people and the importance of evidence-based approaches to digital wellbeing.

The programme included insights from the project coordinator, Prof. Naomi A. Fineberg, as well as perspectives from young participants involved in the study.

We are pleased to see continued public engagement around this topic and grateful for the opportunity to share our work with a wider audience.

The BootStRaP: Boosting Societal Adaptation and Mental Health in a Rapidly Digitalizing, Post-Pandemic Europe is a Europe-wide study uniting scientists from 14 countries and 22 institutions to address and reduce the risks of harmful internet use among teenagers—the online generation. The BootStRaP study follows the success of the European Network for Problematic Usage of the Internet (2018–2022), which significantly advanced global understanding of the links between health, internet use, and problematic behaviors’.
