Julius Burkauskas

Dr Julius Burkauskas is a researcher, clinical psychologist-psychotherapist (CBT) leading laboratory of Behavioral Medicine at Neuroscience Institute, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU, Lithuania). He is currently appointed as Senior Honorary Lecturer (Clinical) at the Department of Clinical & Pharmaceutical Sciences (CAPS) at Hertfordshire University (UK). Julius Burkauskas served as the Science Communications Manager for the Net&Me COST Action Ca16207 from October 2017 to July 2022. In this role, he was responsible for developing a communication strategy, creating content for various communication channels (online, social media, print), providing news updates to the COST Action’s website and social media platforms, and managing a range of communication tools and channels, including website, social media, video, infographics, and brochures.  

Julius is an active member of various professional organizations related to mental health and psychology, including the International College of Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Disorders (Director’s Board Member since Jan 2022), the Lithuanian Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (Member since Sep 2020), the Lithuanian Mindfulness Association (Member since Sep 2020), the Lithuanian Biological Psychiatry Association (Secretary since Aug 2013), the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (Associate Member since Mar 2013), and the Lithuanian Psychologists Association (Member since Jan 2013). His extensive involvement highlights his dedication to the field. 

Julius has published more than 50 scientific publications in journals indexed by CA database, 5 book chapters and received numerous national and international awards: IBRO Travel award (2015, 2017), AACN Edith Kaplan Award (2015), WFSBP Young Investigator Award (2017), IFMAD Poster Prize (2018) and Lithuanian Science Academy scholarship for young researchers (2021).
